http://img168.imageshack.us/img168/8827/flowerdresshc2.jpgWhat colour shoes should i wear with this dress? I have cream round toe ones that are cute.....is that good?
yes that would be niceWhat colour shoes should i wear with this dress? I have cream round toe ones that are cute.....is that good?
I reckon so - or pink ones. Flat or Heels? Either would look ok
Round cream ones...that's great. You can also try light pink high heels. That would look so kute.
You could wear flat shoes which are pink or orange or both.
I would recommend purple sandals (maching the purple on your drees, so they pick up the color) with just a small opening showing your toe, and white handbag. Dark purple eye make up. I wouldn't suggest you to wear red shoes as that is the main color of the dress. If you won't be abble to find the sandals, then wear your cream shoes with pink/light purple handbag and brown to orange and dark purple eye make up.

Good luck!
Yeah they sound good... or any flat pumps that are pinky coloured!
Shoes must be darker than the skirt.
Yes, cream ones will be great with them.
I think cream or black ones would look best.
Think it would look fine
Yes. Or white strappy sandals.
you should wear it
i'd go a bit bolder, maybe red, its a real summery dress so why dont you try the wedges that tie up around the shins? Could really flatter the dress x
Lovely.....go for red would really stand out.
delicate white ones
It doesn't look like there is any cream in the dress,so I would wear white or red,its a lovely dress though.
Depends what the occasion is if its casual then some stylish Flip Flops or Sandal's would be nice.
yea that maybe good or you could try some nice red ones that would look really nice
yup, they're matching the dress
Is there white or cream in the dress?

If white, then I would wear white shoes, same goes for cream.

A cute way of jazzing up the outfit would be to wear black or white 3/4 length leggins with flat red dolly ballet shoes, and if you're going somewhere casual, an either short or long-sleeved white or black t-shirt underneath.
white is the best out of all the colour or matches they will ever be mix white with any thing at any time of the day and you will always get good results 100% satisfaction. for any occassion eating out, parties, business, clubbing and every occassion white is the best. it gives the bestaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh.
yes cream shoes will look lovely with your dress have a great time an there is cream in your dress .
pretty red shoes will look nice xx
I would wear flat ballet pumps, in either white or red. The cream would work really well though. There are some really cute ones in New Look, with elastic round the back, for only 拢20, they come in lots of colours!
they would be ok but why not go bolder and get a red pair.
red patent round toe platforms with a timber heel

Do you serve your Salad with Mayonaise, Salad cream or dressing ?
If I can't do the job with herbs, then I use a small amount of dressing.

To sweeten something--many bought dressings be too strong--I use Miracle Whip, or a small amount of mayo, plus 1/4 tsp. sugar if needed.

Thanks for asking.
Not by itself , I add vinegar and other spices to mayo.
We unusually use the good seasons Italian packets where you add your own olive oil and vinegar
salad dressing....
salad dressing...i have used mayonaise if i have a lettuce/pear/cottage cheese salad....but otherwise, always salad dressing.
As a rule I will use Mayonnaise and to accompany cold lamb I may add Mustard pickles, or a chutney.
Lettuce, tossed salad we each like different dressings. One likes Western, one likes Ranch and one likes Italian. On coleslaw I make a mixture of Miracle Whip, cream and small amount of sugar. On pasta salad we like to mix it with a Ceasar dressing(pasta with black olives, pepperoni, onion, radish, celery and whatever), for tuna/pasta salad I use plain old Miracle Whip or Mayonaise.Sometimes its nice to try something different.

I am not familar with salad cream. Don't know what it is.
One time I was at my in-laws and they were out of salad dressing. My father in law suggested he could make it, he pulled out some mayo and ketchup mixed it together and -viola - instant dressing. I was hesitant but tried it, it was ok but I like the store bought dressing much better.
Certainly it depends on the type of salad, a lettuce and/or veggie salad I serve with dressing. I like Fat Free French, my hubby like Blue Cheese, the rest like Ranch.

Pasta salad I use a mix of mayo and Miracle Whip. However sometimes I dress it with a bottle of Italian dressing.
dressing but my mom likes mayonaisse
Mayo or ranch, my wife prefers vinegar or olive oil.
Salad cream..... It's the only way.

What shoes would go with this cream dress?

Hiya i need some help just ordered this dress http://www.quizclothing.co.uk/shop/produ鈥?/a> and i dont know what shoes to wear with it i was thinking cream and i really like high heel wedges anyone have any ideas oh and my budgit is up to 45/50 really not to expensive! Ive looked on asos theres to many any one know of any or different colour but am wearing a navy cardi with it?What shoes would go with this cream dress?
I think cream would be too matchy-matchy for this dress. Definitely not black, but I think a light brown or even a dark brown would look lovely, or if you are doing a navy cardigan, match your shoes to the cardigan because brown wouldn't look good with the navy cardigan. What shoes would go with this cream dress?
I think that cream, or even navy, heels would go well with that dress.

How about...:

River Island do nice wedges. They are a little over your budget, say 55/60, but it's quality that counts and some of them are stunning.

If not, New look do some nice shoes as well that are in keeping with trends, but quite cheap.

Funny I was going to say navy blue then just saw your mention of navy cardi...perfect. I suggest ';shiny'; like a gloss of navy blue heels.

Very nice dress by the way. Don't forget accessories (can match your shoes). Good luck!
Where any shoes.

Value your shoes.

I myself, prefer wearing Converse with everything. Dresses, skirts, the works.
Some gold or navy stilettos would look fabulous with this dress. It's all about accessorising to bring out great colours in your outfit and that certainly will.
I think you should wear a bright colored pair of shoes and then try to match a necklace, purse, or earings to the shoes! Dont wear the navy cardi
silver shoes will be really good on the drees esp because it has a little bit silver strings in it

p.s

the dress is reallt nice and trendy
Well if you're wearing a navy cardi then get navy heels

Don't get wedges though

Or gold heels and gold accessories
Navy or silver
i like these shoes.....

  • Pale-skin with a cream dress?

I'm looking for a formal (prom) dress, and I found a really nice one - only problem is that it's cream. I'm a blonde-haired, blue-eyed quite pale girl and I'm afraid that it could wash me out.

    a) Anyways I can prevent it washing me out? Keep in mind, it is the perfect dress for me, apart from the colouring so I really want to hold onto it. I'd prefer to just fix the problem instead of finding a new dress. EG, Would you suggest fake-tanning, or something similar?

    b) Okay, worst case scenario, I have to buy a new dress. Which colours would you suggest? I think I mentioned that I have longish (mid-back) blonde hair and blue eyes. I'm quite short for my age (150cm).

Thank you! All of this is really appriciated!Pale-skin with a cream dress?
Wear you make up bold and really stunnly.

This will take the dawl ness away from your facee and make people really see yourr facee and wont really change much.

Wear shoes that are the same colour as your eye shadow.

:D:D a really eletric bluee with a cream dress and eletric blue shoes.

ORR with red shoes and bright red lipstick will make you stand out alot too. (:

Okayy this is what I suggest how to do your make up :

    Bold Red:

    - Wear a veryy light brownyy colour on the eye shawdoww and I tiny bit under your eyes. Wear eyelinerr and massaracaa for long eye lashes. Wearr BRIGHT red lipstick and wear making shoes. Even put a red braclet or red earrings or necklace. Or all togetherr.

Or alot of silver or gold necklaces. This will give you a very classy look. :D:D

    Bluue:

    - Wear brightt and OUTSTANDING blue eye shawdow.

Wear making shoes and Braclets, earrings etc. (:

oh and maybee a little blue purse :D

I think maybee a tinyy blu ebelt under the breat line would look okayy maybee play around with it. (:

I think you would look pretty

with your hai rlike taylor swift (:

    Hope I helped..

    Havee fun.

Ohh and I wouldnt risk Fake tan. (:Pale-skin with a cream dress?
    a) a tan would prevent a wash-out. if you tan, go to a tanning salon, not a spray tan. the tanning booth isn't good for your health, but it's more natural looking and it would only be for a short time. start ahead of time and do it gradually.

    b) if you have to get a new dress, go with a dark, royal blue or sapphire blue. it will bring out your eyes and contrast with your skin.

    :)
you could look quite angelic with a cream dress, just make sure your features dont get washed out, so highlight your features! your eyes with mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, you can put highlighter down the middle of your nose to highlight it, quite a striking colour for your lips!! bam..beautiful..x
no - i think it would look great

    - personally i don't like fake tanning so i wouldn't suggest that but it's up to you

-have asked whether the dress comes in a different colour?

i'd buy the dress and then get some really striking shoes and nice makeup...
I bet you will look positivly devine. It probably wont wash you out, but make you look sweet. Just make sure to accentuate your features. Think of Across the Universe- Lucy in that movie was a fair blonde and she wore cream and looked gorgeous.
It would look absolutely beautiful if you had darker hair, but you're right, it may wash you out especially because you have both light skin AND hair.

Ask your friends and family what they think...it might look great and not too washy, you never know!
I bet it will look fine, just wear makeup on your face.

If you are really self concious, you could get a fake tan, or buy the product at the store and do it yourself.
Just buy the dress. Ya know you want too! Have a friend highlight important areas and facial features. Your blue eyes ought to stand nicely.
i'm like hat just die your hair and if you want fake tan but it can go orange but i'm sure you would look fine in anything blonde hair, blue eyed people with pale skin look good in almost anything.
I would go tanning because it will wash you out
Honestly, I think another color would probably look better with your skin tone and hair color.

I think you should try mystic tan! That would definately help. I did it for my prom dress (I'm very light skinned as well) and it turned out fine.

Just make sure to ask for the lightest tone possible. I asked for the lightest tone. I ended looking a little orangy, I washed with a loofa and soap and it looked natural after a few showers. I can't imagine what I would've looked like if I asked for the medium tone! Oh, and it's cheap too! (I think it was like 10 dollars)

I have a cream dress with black/grey roses on it, what should I wear for jewelry?

I plan on wearing a cream shawl over and black pumps but what kind of jewelry? Black pearls? I have a cream dress with black/grey roses on it, what should I wear for jewelry?
i would love to see a picture of that dress, it sounds very pretty. Well, I agree, you shouldn't wear any necklace because you're already wearing a shawl. If anything, wear some nice earrings and bracelets. I have a cream dress with black/grey roses on it, what should I wear for jewelry?
that sounds really nice! try a silver or gold necklace. don't do pearls! that make you seem way too formal. take the advice from me, i DESIGN clothing and i made something like that. it turned out really pretty with the silver or gold necklace. i try ed the pearls....UGH! take it from a girl that knows fashion! good luck sista! have fun!
That sounds really pretty! Can you get the link or say where you got it from? I think white pearls would look classier than black pearls, but I wouldn't wear any jewelry that's too elaborate or fancy.

It really depends on your own style. However if you want to make your outfit modern and edgy, have heels or flats in bright / neon blue. Keep your accessories limited, to not take away from your shoes, so one or a couple (small in that case) bracelets in gold.
A hot pair of black heels and a tiered pearl necklace would be cute!

I would suggest that you look at the ';Modest Bride'; selections - perhaps even the BM dresses. just wear what you feel comfortable in
Call your local bridal shops to see if they carry this style of dress or know of anyone who would. You can also go to your local fabric store and look at patterns to have a dress made for you. If you choose this option then the dress can be as plain or fancy as you like. Ask your mother's friends for suggestions as well as other members of your local community. Most woman are happy to offer help in this situation.
your local wedding shop, or bhs marks and spencer, next, monsoon, debenham may help, or ask a local dress maker to design one. Good luck
I got my dress from David's Bridal. It was champagne in color and actually was a bridesmaid's dress. It was full length and sleeveless. However it came with a shawl. I turned the shawl backwards and had it tied in the back so it looked like a drape and my neck and arms were covered to the elbow. A bolero is another idea and David's Bridal also had quite a few of those. My dress was simple but elegant and I got tons of compliments. Good luck to you.
How about covering up with a Bolero, this site; http://www.jacquisbridal.co.uk/SH.DS.htm has some lovely long sleeved ones and also capes and shrugs.

Good luck with your wedding (i'm doing it for the 2nd time too in April!!)
I would suggest going to a store called David's Bridal if your town has one. They might have one that you're looking for. Try other bridal shops too and second hand stores too.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and Good luck.

Beige, linen or if you still have some summer colour, spice.

I would stick to neutral tones though, no pastels or primaries.
i'd go for earth colours. considering the colours in fashion now - i'd choose a soft green or brown. nothing bright or too dark.
black's is probably the most obvious, and natural.

but you could maybe try a brown...with the right accessories so it doesn't look out of place!

  • Black & Cream dress for son's wedding? Bride says NO. Torn, hurt and exhausted?

After spending 8 hrs trying to find a light colored dress for my sons wedding, i ended up buying a black %26amp; cream colored, very elegant, pretty dress which is all i could find. It's prom season, so most stores were picked over. My mother in law thought it was gorgeous and looked great on me (i'm very busty so not an easy find) so i bought it. Now FDIL says No she does not want me wearing it as the bridal party is black %26amp; fuschia, and she says cream is the brides color (altho her gown is white). I want to do whats right but cannot find anything else, unless i order by mail?! it's only 3 1/2 weeks away, help. thank you.Black %26amp; Cream dress for son's wedding? Bride says NO. Torn, hurt and exhausted?
Normally, when someone asks if they can wear black to a wedding, everyone comes out of the woodwork shrieking NO! NO! NO! It's funny now that everyone is telling you go ahead and wear black. They're all giving you the answer they think you want to hear. What I am going to tell you is the truth, and something that will help you. Don't trade a dress for one day for a lifetime of a rocky relationship with your son's wife.

When my husband and I got married, I vetoed black or navy blue (the color for the BMs) for the mothers' dresses and I felt comfortable doing it. Not only did they have plenty of notice, but it was for my husband's sake that I asked them not to wear black. Usually I am an advocate for wearing something that is comfortable, stylish and appropriate to a wedding, even if it is black, but he didn't care for everyone dressed in black at his brother's wedding, and that was one of the few opinions he expressed strongly about our wedding. It ended up with my MIL wearing a champagne colored dress and my mother dressed in a light green.

Had I asked my MIL not to wear black, and she insisted on wearing it, or worse yet, just showed up in black on the wedding day, I think there would have been a lot of problems, maybe not that day, but I'd certainly resent her for doing something I specifically asked her not to. At the very least, you need to discuss this with your FDIL and take her feelings into consideration. IMO, it's a very simple request that she's making and it won't hurt you to try and accomodate that. In fact, it could go a long way in the good will department and make for a more harmonious relationship between you.

I don't see any need to get your son involved. Most likely, he doesn't care. Invite your FDIL over to see how the dress looks on you and let her make the decision from that. If she doesn't like it, ask her to go shopping with you, and try to be positive.

And if you're still having trouble, imagine that as you were preparing to get married, your asked your MIL to do something for you (or not do something) and she completely went against your wishes. How would that make you feel? This day is for your son and your FDIL, so if she asks you to wear something different and you have the ability to do so, make that concession - it's not worth fighting over.

http://shop.nordstrom.com/C/6006532/0~23鈥?/a>Black %26amp; Cream dress for son's wedding? Bride says NO. Torn, hurt and exhausted?
I would wear it. Perhaps have the mother in law deal with the daughter on your behalf.
Wear the dress. It sounds really pretty! You're not wearing fuscia or white, so I don't see a problem. Wear it and knock their socks off!
It does sound very elegant. Black and cream/ivory is awesome. You won't be mistaken for part of the bridal party which I have a feeling is the bride's issue. You should have your son have a talk with his bride to be, that will keep you in good graces for the future.

    God bless!
Just wear the dress and be your most wonderful, beautiful self!
Since your future DiL wants you wear something specific, ask her if she'd like to go shop with you to find something. Explain that you've looked everywhere and this dress is actually perfect and you want to look your best for her special day, and that with the right fuchsia accents (corsage, jewelry, etc. you can still match the bridal party and look stunning!

(And you can't tell her, but maybe someone else can explain that if she isn't wearing cream, you wearing it is fine.)
brides are notoriously self absorbed. why should she care is she marrying your dress? wear it and have fun or take a day for yourself and blow the wedding off
If you knew what the wedding colors were, why would you choose a dress in those colors, unless the bride wanted that?

I truly understand the hard-to-fit aspect of your dilemma, but I think it would be best if you hit the malls again to see if you can find something else. You do still have 3 1/2 weeks.
it does sound very pretty, has she actually seen it on you before she made this decision? I can understand where she's comin from, I had the same colors as her, and I didn't want the moms or grandmoms wearing black b/c it would blend to much in my opinion, but ended up caving on it when my mom found the perfect dress for it and it was black and white. and it actually looked good in pics! we all matched...lol!

I know its exhausing, but it is her day, and while it is probably a bit high maintence of her, I think you have to try (within reason of course) to accomidate. I'm sure you will need her to accomidate you some day, so as with any relationship with family, ya pick your battles and know its a give and take relationship. Try a little more for a light dress if thats what she wants, and if then you can' find anything, wear the dress, but I wouldn't until I had exhausted all options!
Have you tried to sit down and explain it to her as you did here? If you tell her how hard you have tried and the difficulties you have had maybe she would be a bit more understanding. Ask her if she has any ideas since it is short notice, would she shop with you to give you help since she is so opinionated? Then perhaps she would see how hard it is for you.
I'M SORRY ABOUT YOUR EXHAUSTION BUT YOU ARE THE MOTHER OF THE GROOM AND IT'S BEST NOT TO WEAR BLACK AS PER ETIQUETTE! OR YOU ARE STATING THAT YOU ARE IN MOURNING OVER THIS WEDDING!

    TRY MACY'S, DILLARD'S, ALFRED ANGELO'S, DAVID'S BRIDAL, LOCAL BOUTIQUES.

GO WHEN YOU'RE FRESH AND NOT TIRED AND HAVE TIME TO ENJOY YOUR SHOPPING....DON'T BE IN A RUSH...THIS IS YOUR SON'S WEDDING.....ENJOY THE TIME AND MOMENT......YOU'RE GAINING A DAUGHTER NOT LOSING A SON......WE ALL WANT ';OUR'; WEDDINGS TO BE JUST RIGHT! REMEMBER?

    HAPPY SHOPPING AND CONGRADS!

RELAX THE RIGHT DRESS IS WAITING FOR YOU!

    GOD BLESS YOU!
tell the bride to get over it...that's all you can find and that's that. What's the big deal...
There's no reason why you need to match the bridal party and it's not like it will clash. If you wanted to wear lime green with orange I might understand her objections but I think she's overstepped the bounds here. She can't approve everyone's wardrobe unless she's willing to pay to have someone help with buying and choosing dresses and that's absurd. Since her mother knows the effort you put into finding the dress I'd talk to her and see if she can intervene on your behalf to calm the situation. She needs to be more realistic and see that everyone doesn't have unlimited, time, choices or budget.
I think you can get away with it, but if you can try to make her as happy as possible. Afterall, it is their day.
I'd talk to your son about it.

Your FDIL sounds like she is being a tad too controlling. See if he would be offended if you wore it.

Black and cream sounds lovely. If she's wearing white then there should be no problem.

Black and cream are only no-nos if they are the only color worn.

Wearing all cream or white is a no-no because it steals from the bride. Wearing all black is a no-no because it looks like a funeral.

But the two combined are perfectly acceptable by Emily Post standards. Especially if the cream is a little on the darker side.

If this one dress is going to make her hate you for life, then it's probably best to change the dress and save the relationship, if that's a possibility for you. If not, then you need to have a conversation with her about wearing it.

If she is flipping out over a dress, then God help your son.

Why girls freak out so much over silly things at their wedding is beyond me?
wear the dress -- it's your son's day too - not just hers

ps - my mom wore a nice black pants suit to my wedding
You shouldn't have waited so long.

It's up to the bride. It's HER day, not yours. You DON'T need to wear black since the bridal party will be wearing it, and you DON'T need to wear cream since it IS close to white.

Maybe you should try ordering by mail.
I am getting married in 7 weeks and my mom bought a black and cream dress also and it is beautiful!!! WEAR IT. there is nothing wrong with it. The colors will match the wedding party. I am assuming the dress is more black then cream, correct?

And her saying that cream is the brides colors - well honestly most mothers of the bride and mothers of the groom come in champagne these days and i think that is an iffy choice.

GO WITH IT. if you like/love the dress and you feel comfortable in it, then wear it.

Explain to your FDIL that you would really like to wear the dress and that you understand where she is coming from but this dress is your choice.

    GOOD LUCK!!!
She needs to realize that you need to look good and feel comfortable too. If that dress makes you look and feel amazing, then wear it! It is not like the bridesmaid dresses, nor does it look like her dress, so there shouldn't be a problem. Would she rather you showed up in a frumpy, pastel, unflattering dress feeling uncomfortable or in something elegant that compliments her colors? She should be able to compromise with you. You're not trying to steal her thunder, but it's an important day for you too and you want to look good.
I had a similar situation during my wedding - my MIL had chosen a dress that was going to clash horribly in the pictures - but it was a completely different color from anything anyone else had on, and she eventually agreed it would clash.

Has she seen the dress on you yet? If she sees how good it looks on you, maybe she'll change her mind.

Personally, it sounds like your dress might match in wedding photos very well - which is always an important thing to consider. Still, three and a half weeks is still plenty of time to shop. I'd say you should at least make an effort to find a second dress option. Find one you're okay with - maybe something more ';Spring';-like - and let her choose by seeing both of them. Be sure to keep the tags on the new one until you decide, so you can return it!
Your future daughter in law sounds like quite the bridezilla. Sorry she's joining the family. I guess if you want to keep the peace you'll have to find another dress somehow. Perhaps you can try Ebay? Good luck!

Does that look ok if i was also wearing black dress pants and shoes?

Does a yellow-cream shirt go good with black dress pants and dress shoes?
Yes, black goes with nearly anything. The warm, light yellow makes a nice contrast with the dark, neutral black.Does a yellow-cream shirt go good with black dress pants and dress shoes?
It would probably look better with some brown/tan slacks or something in the brown color family. Same with the shoes.
    absolutely not

    Yes, it does.

You can always get a black cardigan/shrug and wear black heels. That would be cute. OR you could get gold heals and a brown or even pink shrug/cardigan. Have fun at the wedding! :]Cream dress need help?
Cream goes with everything(almost)! But maybe a short black cardi, shrrug. And shoes ummmm black might look a bit old so maybe like a bright colour, pink? Oooh or instead of a black cardi what about buying like a black sheer pussybow blouse and putting it underneath the dress? That would make the black shoes look younger. Yes I think thats what I would do. Good luck!

    Cream Wool Dress fashion tips?

What does a cream wool dress (just above knee height) go well with? This is the most fashionable thing I have for the School Social. I want to at least look good in it. I have olive skin (asian) and shoulder-length black hair, tall. Will that work for me? Or is cream a colour that's not for me altogether?Cream Wool Dress fashion tips?
Try black leggings and a nice necklace any color would match try some simple earrings and a nice pair of flats and some makeup to match ur jewelry and some lip balm a little black eye liner and black masscaraCream Wool Dress fashion tips?
Try a yellow or turquoise dress. At least 3 inches above the knee. Wool is for the winter. Cream is an Autumn color. Turquoise is a more subdued color. It is rich, but not as bright as yellow and well complement your olive skin and raven black hair.
Not for summer, i dont think. Try a brighter colour like turquoise or yellow. Or maybe a bright red. Maybe even orange.

What dress color would go with some cream colored heals?

Red, like a deep wine red...or black which goes well with everything. What dress color would go with some cream colored heals?
cream goes with anything, if you have a pale skintone. If you have olive skin, i'd say a purple dress or turquoise. If you have dark skin, go for something eye popping like fuschia or brunt orange! whatever you do, stay away from white!

Is it okay to wear a dress with a cream color background with pale violet/gray flowers to a wedding?

The wedding is a military wedding (dress white uniforms) at 11:00 a.m. in California. I know you're not supposed to wear white, but does that mean even a white/cream background on a pastel print dress? Is it okay to wear a dress with a cream color background with pale violet/gray flowers to a wedding?
Your dress sounds fine. The 'no white' rule refers to solid white. Is it okay to wear a dress with a cream color background with pale violet/gray flowers to a wedding?
    When in doubt...
Thanks for providing such great details, that helps a lot, I would say since it is a daytime wedding in a warm climate your dress sounds completely acceptable, if the dress is cream, and not white, it should be okay, I don't think anyone will be offended or anything, so go for it sista'! Hope this helped!!!
If the print is all over the dress and not just at the bottom along the hem, then I think you will be safe.
Wear the dress and have a great time. I do not believe there is any dress code for the guests at a military wedding.
Assuming you've been invited to the wedding and you're not crashing it, I would guess that means you know the bride and/or groom. Would it be out of line to ask them if your dress would be inappropriate? Or am I just being too logical here?
I think that you should play it safe and find something else to wear. It's better to be safe than sorry.
Sounds fine to me. A least you're not wearing blue jeans! but seriously, the white rule means solid white, not a print.
i think your dress sounds pretty and appropriate. have a nice time at the wedding!!
    DON'T EVEN TRY IT!
Sounds really pretty to me! It's definitely not white either, so you won't be 'competing' with the bride. It sounds like a winner. :)

Probably something from the Autumn color family. If you've never figured out your color by ';season';, you might want to give it a try. There are palettes of color for every season - I'm an Autumn and soft yellows and creams are good for my skin and hair color.

  • How do I dress my body? I'm shaped like an ice cream cone!?

I have very large shoulders, they aren't proportionate to my hips.

I'm literally shaped like an ice cream cone. Right now I wear button down tops and dress pants, for my job.

I want to venture out, but I hate shopping. Nothing suits my shape.

    Can you give me tips!?

How do I dress my body? I'm shaped like an ice cream cone!?
You are the rare inverted triangle body type, which is actually a very good thing if you dress it right. Your goal is to create the illusion of the perfect hourglass body shape by balancing your lower body to your upper body and to draw attention away from your upper body.

    Wear:

    - Flowing fabrics

    - Set-in sleeves or three-quarter length sleeves

    - Halter tops (they actually make shoulders look smaller)

    - Tops and dresses that flow through the waist and go past the hips

    - A-line skirts

    - Flared or Wide Leg pants

    - Darker Colors on top

    Avoid:

    - Stiff, bulky, fabrics

    - Styles that emphasize your shoulders

    - Big collars

    - Tapered skirts and pants (no skinny jeans)

Ideal Outfit: http://bp1.blogger.com/_c4vB_v6T6qc/Rdge鈥?/a>How do I dress my body? I'm shaped like an ice cream cone!?
There are many different body shapes the apple, pear, straight, petite, all have their do's and don't's.

Try wearing boot cut or flared pants/jeans. Thicker, brighter belts (which would give you some balance to the center of your body, rather than your shoulders). And on top, try draping cardigans over your button downs or t-shirt. Accessories always help an outfit, they can distract from the parts of us that we don't want to stand out. Try experimenting with accessories (large earrings will not help the shoulders though, so stick with smaller ones).

Hope this helps! Check out the link for my source, look under the apple shape.

What matches with a black dress with cream dots on it?

like what color shoes? What matches with a black dress with cream dots on it?
No way. I'd totally go with deep red/crimson pumps. If the dress is a print and only in those two colors, you could totally pull off a solid vibrant color shoe. What matches with a black dress with cream dots on it?
    Black...
personally i would either do black, or a metallic shoes so you don't look too boring!!
I would go with black also,. unless you can find a cute combination of black and cream that wouldn't look too busy with the dots on the dress. But black would be safest.
Go with some cream and black shoes, or just cream to make the dots pop! If you aren't tan though, then it could wash you out, so go with black. Here are some!

    http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=78746鈥?/a>
    black or cream.

though i would personally go with the black.

but if you'd like some contrast (meaning you don't want to look completely swallowed in one color), then i'd go with the cream.

I am in my 40's and would like to wear a cream dress to a wedding in Mid July. Is this appropriate?

Only if you are the BRIDE. If you are a guest, then forget it.I am in my 40's and would like to wear a cream dress to a wedding in Mid July. Is this appropriate?
If you are a guest, then no its not appropriate. If the bride is wearing a ivory dress, you are goin to stick out like a sore thumb. I'd say a tanish dress is fine, or a cream and black dress. My mom is wearing a white halter dress with black flowers on it. More black than white, It looks nice, but wont make her stick out from me.

I'd stick with another color if it was me.I am in my 40's and would like to wear a cream dress to a wedding in Mid July. Is this appropriate?
Are you the bride? If so then have at it! Wear whatever you want!

If not, I'm going to have to advise against it! Cream or white is generally inappropriate to wear to a wedding. People will think you are tyring to upstage the bride, and you dont want to do that! Or, you could always ask the bride if she would mind, but be ready for an answer you may not like!
White, off white, cream and ivory are not appropriate for guests to wear - those colors are reserved for the bride. If the dress has colored accents, then that is fine, but you should definitely stay away from a solid cream dress.
Yes, if you add some colour with accessories - scarf, belt, shoes, handbag, wrap.... and jewellery.
Not generally acceptable. Ask the bride.
Yes. Just check first with the bride, mother and future m-i-l to be sure none are going to wear cream, though.
Only if you know for certain that the bride is wearing a bright white. If her dress is off-white at all, it would not be appropriate for you to wear a cream dress.
I see no reason why it would be an issue.
No. Given your age, you would come off looking like a 20 year old wanna be bride.
If you are the bride then go for it! I am getting married next July and I am wearing ivory. If you are a guest I would advise against. Traditionally the bride is the only one who wears white or cream.
mmm as a guest.. how light of a cream is it.. might be too close to the bride's white (or ivory if she chooses)%26gt; i would decide on an actual color
I hate to admit this, but I did sit down to watch an hour of Glamor's Wedding Do's and Don't on Style this past Saturday evening.

The experts say absolutely not. Avoid, ivory, cream, white, or anything else that even closely resembles the color of the bride's gown.

My opinion...if it's a less formal affair, and you are close to the bride, give her a call and ask what she thinks. But don't be surprised if just because the bride says it's okay, the other guests don't look down your decision.

Good luck and have fun at the wedding!
It's appropriate no matter what your age is because it's YOUR wedding. Have fun and enjoy it :)
As the bride it's totally appropriate. Guests should of course stear clear of anything in the white/cream/ivory realm.
Hate to say it, but probably not.

Stay away from any white or off-white color. The closest you can go is tan.
Light colors in summer sound right.
If you are the bride, then absolutely. If you are not, then please at least consider wearing a colored jacket or print scarf.

Wearing unrelieved white or cream to a wedding when one is over the age of six and not the bride is generally frowned upon.
If it doesn't compete with the bride, why not. ~
I';m sorry but I dont believe this is appropriate at all. It doesnt matter if your 20, 30, 40, or 80, you should never wear a color that you know will match up to the bride. You should always stay away from white, beige, cream, pearl, ivory, anything like this.
uhm no! you can wear what ever you want to a wedding.
If you are the bride then absolutely. If you are a guest in any capacity (this includes being family) then no. It is considered disrespectful to wear white or ivory because that is reserved for the bride.
anything that is close to white is a no no!

leave thoes colors to the bride!
If you are the bride, then I see no reason not to! :-)

But if you are a guest, I would leave cream and white to the bride. It is just old fashioned etiquette, but it still applies I am afraid. I had a recent wedding to go to, and found the perfect dress, fit etc but it was cream and lacy, felt a little brideish so I reluctantly left it on the rack.

that's fine. black and gray are like the same color family in my mind. as long as you're not wearing blue tights with a black dress, or brown and black, that's fine.
Yeah that should look fine, stay away from tights of a bright colour as they are more earthy and duller colours.
    erm,

i think black tights would look nice but i'd go for clean skin colour tights?
    you shall
That sounds OK but could you put up a picture?
    that sounds nice

it really depends on what look you're going for. cream would make a very rich color combination a nd would look best with a dress that is a simple, classic cut or is somewhat reminiscent of a victorian dress. white, on the other hand, will make it look clean, crisp and fresh and will look best with a dress of a modern cut. although both will work, i would suggest white because if the silver in the tie, which might clash with cream.Im wearing a navy dress to a wedding. well the cream would match the navy dress really well but the white would look best with his black suit, but with him wearing the navy tie i would def go for the cream, no doubt:-)
    CREAM FOR SURE =]

I think white would look best with the silver in the tie.
cream definately. he'll stand out more than just being another guest; it'll draw attention to the tie better.
idk...but make sure your socks are black
I think the white would look best, but that's just my opinion.
    white

What color shoes goes with a cream color wedding dress. That is long below my shins. It is backless.?

Should I go black shoes or gold. Should I wear pearls or diamonds. Do you think my hair up or down I'm not wearing a veil. Also should I go spike heels or regular like 2'1/2 inches because I am 5'10'; already and my husband to be is 5'9';What color shoes goes with a cream color wedding dress. That is long below my shins. Cream-coloured shoes to match! Wear pearls... shorter heels and hair up!What color shoes goes with a cream color wedding dress. That is long below my shins. It is backless.?
Wear the regular 2 1/2 gold shoes. Black shoes with a wedding dress is pretty tacky...

And go with diamonds for your wedding because it will look more elegant :)
For a wedding or anything formal, I would choose cream colored heels as closely matched to the gown color as possible. Staying with the same color is soothing to the eye and the wearer will appear taller and not ';cut'; at the shins with a bright or strong colored pair of shoes. Small heels should be fine but I wouldn't wear really high heels because if you and your husband-to-be are of similar height...it will look better in the pictures. A chocolate brown heel would also look nice. For a formal event I would always chose an updo. It always looks classy and put together. Since you are not wearing a veil....you may want to think about placing a large, beige colored flower in the back of you hair so the people behind you can see it while you are at the front of wherever you are getting married. Maybe some ivory roses?? Make sure the flower does not contain sap to ruin your hair. I think pearls would look nicer than diamonds.
I'd go with cream heals, because the black would probably clash with the cream dress, the gold might too. I'd wear regular heals so your husband doesn't look too much shorter in the photos. I think wearing pearls would look better, because it would look more classy. If you would like to go for a more relaxed look wear your hair down, and if you'd like to look more formal then up.

I hope you have a beautiful day :)
    shoes = gold

    necalace = diamonds

    hair = down

    shoes = regular high heels
Cream colored shoes dyed to match the dress
My sister just got married and her dress was cream she wore silver and clear shoes she bought for real cheap at a bridal shop it was really cute she had so many compliments on them,i say diamonds but it's you getting married. up would look really cute without a veil with maybe a few little peices down in the back.i wouldn't do a spike heel though.hope this helps congrats...

  • What color shoes do I wear with a cream and navy dress sandle or shoe?

it really depends on the style of the dress and what jewellery ect...but have you thought of silver?OR THE OBVIOUS WOULD BE CREAM OR NAVY. try sandleWhat color shoes do I wear with a cream and navy dress sandle or shoe?
You can pretty much wear any color shoe you want with your dress. Cream and navy are sudo-neutrals and go with tons of colors. If your afraid of trying something such as a bold red shoe go for a bone or navy color.

Depending on the casuality of the dress will make a difference in the style shoe. If the dress is formal go with a strappy sandle with a heel, if its a little more sophisticated go with pumps and if its casual choose flats or flip-flops.What color shoes do I wear with a cream and navy dress sandle or shoe?
Red Sandal, or if you can, heels. Because red is an accentuating color that will look good and still have pizazz.
    Navy
Black shoe, make sure its polished :)
    cream sandal.
It depends on the dress... the style and what it looks like.
    cream sandle

Is it ok for a guest to wear a cream-colored dress to a wedding?

I know you're not supposed to wear white, because of the

bride, but I'm going to a wedding this summer, and what if the

bride is wearing an ivory dress, not white? Should I ask the

mother of the bride if the wedding gown is white or ivory? I found a dress I'd love to wear, it's cream-colored with brown polka-dots which are bigger than a pencil eraser, but smaller than a dime, so it's not a solid color. Is it ok for a guest to wear a cream-colored dress to a wedding?
I really don't think that anyone is likely to mistake a cream coloured dress with brown polka-dots for a bridal gown! If you like it, go for it!

Think about it... do men ever worry about whether or not their suit looks too much like the groom's? :)Is it ok for a guest to wear a cream-colored dress to a wedding?
It all depends on the bride. Also, will you be in a lot of pictures? I would ask, it can't hurt.
I really think you should wear something dresser than jeans. But if you have a nice shirt to go with guess jeans that's fine.

    Have Fun
    Find another dress!
Sorry, no matter how gorgeous or tasteful the outfit may be, choose another color.

I don't even wear a white clerical robe for a wedding.
I just don't think it would appropriate. Just because how noticeable will the polka dots be in photographs. I would just find something else to wear.
    NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

NO Ivory, NO egg-shell, NO off-white.

Please, find another dress or else you will be the talk of the reception for being the rude guest that showed up in an Ivory dress to steal the lime light from the bride.
It should be okay as it has a pattern to it. If you are worried, speak to the bride and get her thoughts on the dress so that way she doesn't feel offended.
I think since it's paterned it should be fine, and probably a shorter dress as opposed to a bridal style. if your worried it's still nice to ask.
    No, it's disrespectful.
    yes! wear a vail too!
I think you should be OK, since it does have a pattern to it.
If you are good friends with the bride, ask her if she minds. Be open and polite about it and try to make it seem like you don't want to take away from her special day. If she says sure, I would tie a big ribbon around your waist to add some color to the dress and wear shoes and a purse of the same color. If you are not that close to her, then I would be on the safe side and pick a new dress. Just think of it as having an excuse to go out another time to wear your dress.
