Is it okay to wear a cream color dress with black detail to a dinner rehearsal?

This is to my cousin's wedding and I was wondering if there are rules to the pre-wedding dinner. I have a cream color dress with black shoulder straps, black waist strap and black flowers detailing the bottom. I have no idea. This is my first dinner rehearsal. Is it okay to wear a cream color dress with black detail to a dinner rehearsal?
sounds perfect and who cares if you're overdressed. you'll look great and its been than being too informal. Is it okay to wear a cream color dress with black detail to a dinner rehearsal?
The dress is probably fine, but what you need to do is to find out from your hostess what the attire is for the dinner. If she's expecting blue-jean casual or black-tie formal, your nice middle of the road dress wont be right.

Always, no matter what the occasion, you should find out from the hostess what the attire is. If they sent a subtle hint that you didn't catch, they can tell you plainly so you dont embarrass yourself.
rehearsal dinners tend to be semi formal so i think your dress sounds perfect.

these days with all the bridezillas around it can be dangerous wearing white or cream or anything along those lines anywhere near a bride! but the black detailing on yours sounds just right, with the shoulder straps, waist band and flowers it's definitely ok to wear.

i think you will look lovely!
I'd ask my cousin or aunt about it first if you haven't. For a somewhat dressy rehearsal dinner, it sounds lovely! But rehearsal dinners can be very informal, as well, so it's not a strange question to ask them if they haven't told you. But sure, if it's dressy, it should be fine.
It sounds like a really cute dress. There is no rule against wearing some white/ivory to a rehearsal dinner. So I see no problem with it.
it is just dinner, you can wear what ever you want to..!!
my gf says yes
